Bleu Cheese Burgers

 I love bleu cheese and having it burgers is da bomb.   The burger is good without the dressing if you prefer not to add the extra calories.  You can buy your favorite bleu cheese dressing if you don't want to make it.




BLEU CHEESE BURGERS

(4 burgers)


Sauce Ingredients:

*1/2 cup bleu cheese crumbles

*1/4 cup sour cream

*1/4 cup mayonnaise 

*1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

*1/8 teaspoon dry mustard

*1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

*1/8 teaspoon salt

*1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper


Burger Ingredients:

*4 slices of your favorite cheese (optional) 

*4 hamburger buns

*1 pound ground beef (I use 80/20)

*1/2 cup bleu cheese crumbles

*2 tablespoons chopped chives

*1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

*1/4 teaspoon hot sauce 

*1/4 cup butter, chopped (optional)

*1/2 teaspoon coarse ground pepper

*1/2 teaspoon salt

*1/4 teaspoon dry mustard


Bleu Cheese Dressing Directions:

~In a mixing bowl, whisk all the ingredients together.  

~Refrigerate for at least 6 hours (I normally make this the day before).


Burger Directions:

~In a large bowl mix ground beef, bleu cheese crumbles, chives, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, butter, pepper, salt, and dry mustard (Do not over mix).

~Form into 4 patties.

~Place on a plate and cover with plastic wrap.

~Refrigerate for 2-8 hours.  

~Grill over high heat for 5-7 minutes on each side, or until burger is done.

~Place a piece of cheese over burger and transfer on to bottom half of bun (I like to toast my bun first.

~Spread some bleu cheese dressing over inside of top bun.

~Place over burger and enjoy.  


Variation:

`add bacon, tomato, pickles and lettuce if you like.
